  • In the West Religion and State are separated.

The society is secular, and the majority are not concerned with religion.

Fundamentalist Islam demands societal, political, and religious subservience by GLOBAL society - and the physical liquidation of the 'unbeliever'. The two religions are equally repulsive in many ways - but only Islam actually enforces DEATH as the solution for non-believers.

  • its NOT Christians who are teaching "kill the infidels and you'll go to paradise" as far as I know!

  • @tharg330 Your basic point is flawed. I don't think there is one Islamic nation that kills people for believing in a different religion or no religion at all. It is not the policy of any Muslim government. So to say "Islam actually enforces Death as solution for non-believers" is just as ignorant a statement as something those you want to criticize would say

  • I cant stress enough how important I think CFI is. When Sam Harris wrote that Islam was unacceptable in its fundamentalist incarnation, only CFI really did something about it. Namely this conference.

  • somewhat the church sponsers religoin, and they have some bizarre laws.

  • Turks did Turkey is secular...

  • You have unwittingly reiterated the point of this summit. Islam is a form of totalitarianism. It's a fixed doctrine, inflexible, irreproachable for all manking for all time. Is it any wonder why the Muslim world is so backward? Christianity USED to be the same way and we had the Dark Ages.

  • Hellow I think Christians are not narrow minded and they do not mind reform at all if it makes things better, I wish other religions would do the same, and Footprint made a very valid point on who is in desperate need for the reform at this time, the backward mentality and going back to the stone age that we see now is not helping muslims,I think they need to move forward and not backward.

  • What do you mean by reform? Do you want to change the religon? Why do not you start by reforming your own religon, chiristanity! A clearly reformable religon.
