Ten minutes of a day-paddle on the Potomac river. Put-in at Angler's Inn, attain up-river through Mather Gorge to just above Fish Ladder and play along the way. You will see the Maryland chute, the rock ledge below Rocky Island, Rocky Island rapids, the Virginia chute, the S-turn below Fish Ladder. Water temperature about 50F/10C, water level around or just below 3ft on the Little Falls scale. Kayak is Wilderness Systems Zephyr 15.5, WW paddle is a Werner Desperado, Greenland paddle is a carbon-kevlar covered Lumpy wooden paddle.
