This video offers suggestions for federal agency employees to reduce resource consumption. Anyone interested in water and energy conservation, waste prevention and recycling can use these tips to help conserve our natural resources. The Sustainable Operations Subcommittee of the Greater Yellowstone Coordinating Committee facilitates sustainable operations practices throughout the public lands of the Greater Yellowstone Area. The GYCC was formed between the National Park Service and US Forest Service in 1964 through a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU provides for mutual cooperation and coordination in the management of core federal lands in the Greater Yellowstone Area.

    That's good. As a retiree, I am becoming more aware of how distracting acronyms are and this video leads off with a bunch of them! (SOS? Is that even "legal"?) Anyways- one of the barriers to energy conservation is that local measurements were extremely difficult to come by. At the Ranger District level, our electric bills were sent directly to Albuquerque for payment. We could not tell how well our efforts were working or if they were working at all (without going to extreme measures).
