There is some talk lately about how everyone has what they call a permanent age, not your real age, but how you feel I guess. I'd say I'm about 25 because I've been out of commission since then with a bad back, but now it's finally healed up, thanks to a simple diet change. I now eat 4 small meals a day instead of big one. Yep, one meal a day will keep you alive but for my body type it is not enough for healing, therefore my body failed to heal itself for 10 years before I figured it out. Hopefully if this happens to you it won't take you as long to realize this as it did for me.
I'm actually 40 years old and I worked as a professional snow shoveller last year and didn't need any pain pills!
I predict that this simple diet change will have some beneficial effects for life extension, but you will have to wait another 40 years to find out how I'm doing. But it's more than just diet. There is also exercise. I work out daily, 40 push-ups, 110 crunches, 10 pull-ups, bike rides, snow shovelling, walks, jogging and yes, even dancing. Note that you can't do diet or exercise, you must do both. Be careful out there and stay warm!
Our weather experiences couldn't be further apart right now :) And good for you on the health turnaround too!

Thanks. It's been a long road. Just have to remember to do the stretching for the lower back so this doesn't happen again.

I'm thinking I'm about 27. That's approximately when it started getting hard for me to remember my age without thinking about it, and I certainly feel more like a twenty-something than my actual age of 32 or whatever it is.
you used to eat one meal a day? i'm curious how big it was, when it was, and whether it was varied or something regular.
i once knew a guy who would go to burger king every night for dinner, and order the exact same thing, despite living in a coop where din was served.

Mostly Taco Bell, things are much more varied now but I eat what I like. My theory is if you have to think about it, it's probably causing you more stress than it's worth. The results are pretty good, I'd say. I don't even own pain pills anymore; it's been more than three years since I've taken them. Another cool side effect is not being sick all the time.
