@ShutterbugW Yea because all we need is another frivolous unfounded lawsuit because someone who doesn't realize they don't have the right not to be offended found a book they don't like, we certainly need school libraries to ban books people might find offensive.
-
@yellowkrux eerg.Well, I should have sued em when I had the chance when I found the Satanic bible in schools
-
@ShutterbugW It would violate the separation of church & state to require students to read Age of Reason, then again it's not like the christian right isn't going to sue schools if Agrarian Justice & Rights of Man are taught in public schools, they'd get all huffy & start calling it communist brainwashing, still they wouldn't have any legal basis to sue for teaching those books.
-
@yellowkrux WHAT CONSTITUTION now that were not using it, may as well as thrown in the "Age of Reason" as we are a nation "With Out Reason" or is the Age of Reason Politically incorrect? Oh there is another thing that chaps my hide. Being politically correct, it sounds so..English.

I think more then Just Thomas Paine, but the entire constitution should be mandatory reading, the pledge should be recited , History of the U.S. Should be the utmost studied, not the history of mexico, not the history of Russia or any other country, But the History of the US. We have chosen security over freedom as well which has placed us in deep fecal matter.
-
@ShutterbugW I agree, assuming that they also make Thomas Paine's works required reading in all schools. (excluding the age of reason, as it would violate the constitution to teach it in a government funded school).
-
I think this person should be shown in all schools.

Bob Basso is a fraud. If you want to know what the real Thomas Paine read Thomas Paine. Start with Agrarian Justice. You will find in short order who is rewriting our history.

Wow, this is amazing. People, read "The Age of Reason." This is so not Thomas Paine!

The only vitriol I've seen here is from the left.
