I disagree that this is unethical. While you may not want to interfere with his "free will," the people he governs don't have "free will" to live in a better world. My family has performed soul retrievals without consent, and not only did the spirits help us, but it made the person happier. You shouldn't give a person in an abusive situation a soul retrieval because they they will experience the pain of soul-flight again. (But if someone is being abused, you should report it!)

I hope it is a joke. Please don't do this. It is very unethical to perform any shamanic work, including soul retrieval, on a person without their consent. Even to Bush. Do a shamanic work on someone that doesn't know or agrees and it will either not not work or cause harm (to the client or the practitioner).
For special cases (like babies, coma-patients, animals, etc) one can journey to the soul of the person and ask permission.
