Soap - Chuck, Bob, Jodie and the Refrigerator

From the TV series "Soap". In this clip, Jodie (Billy Crystal) steals Bob, and Chuck freaks out! For those of you that don't know the series, Jodie is gay and Chuck is his half-brother. Chuck is a ventriloquist and his dummy is named Bob. Chuck believes Bob is a real person.

Thank you for posting this video. I can't believe Billy Crystal used to look so young, I can't believe I still laugh at this well written scene 30 years later. Jay Johnstone was a supreme ventriloquist and even went on to host his own show.

@kanojo1969 I am disappointed by its post series legacy too. Its one of the funnies and best written story in any medium. Too bad ABC cancel it one season too early. Susan Harris never got to finish it. Maybe the format wasn't right for prime time.

SOAP was a classic show, I'm amazed by how many people have never heard of it.

Ironically, there is a real mental illness where people can only communicate through puppets. I can't remember what it's called but I once read about a guy who had tourettes and also could only communicate with other people through a hand-puppet giraffe that he had carried around since childhood. Weird.
