  • Their dorsal fins collapse because there is no bone in them. In captivity the whales don't need to dive down hundreds of feet, so there is no constant water pressure to support the fins, which can reach 200lbs or more. Since whales in captivity spend more time at the surface receiving enrichment, food, and veterinary care, gravity eventually takes it's course and the fin collapses over time. This has been observed in the wild and it does not bother the orca at all. :- )

  • i dont belive hes gone

  • in honor of keiko i went to the ocean he was born at. and dropped my necklace in the water that had his name on it :)

  • he died on my birthday. I was turning 7, and i Loved Keiko, he was wonderful! I loved Free Willy, so i was really sad and shocked. I cried a lot.... =`( R.I.P Keiko

  • I have always lovveed kieko and I was soooosooosooo sad I couldn't see him before he died

  • I remember going out on a boat and seeing him. it was great!!! I fed him a fish :)

    I love him!!!!!!!!!!

  • What makes it kind of more emotional is that the whale from this song and the singer of this song are now both dead. Keiko and Michael Jackson have both passed away. They're both gone but definitely NOT FORGOTTEN!

  • I like how you use the free willy theme

  • @mjakes20 Yeh sorry if i came across aggressive or anything just thought id let you know, atleast they tried but poor boy was too old to be released really but atleast he had a year or so of freedom :)

  • @kiefer1house2 yeah sorry for my comment. i later found out about his life. its much better to love an orca outside of captivity, to see him swim so freely
