shall i tell you something i am in 40 and my father is 90 plus still listen this
song and sing , when i was 15 i had heard so many time from him, this song really has a meaning.

This is indeed Sehgal's masterpiece. But don't forget the contributions of the lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri and the music composer Naushad. It was the first film Majrooh wrote songs for. The producer approached Jigar Muradabadi for lyrics, but Jigar assigned the job to his disciple Majrooh. What a great judgement on the part of the great poet Jigar!
