I went to Penn State and marched DCI for a few years and I have to say that some people are just plain stupid. Our asst. band director at PSU went to BCC and he's brought a ton of HBC influence to the BlueBand and we dig it. It's really cool to see how many styles of marching band there are and not everyone can appreciate that. Some might consider DCI/non-HBC bands to be better "quality" but they completely miss the point of why you guys do what you do! I love watching y'all!

@famupiccolo92 That is just people being racist and ignorant. I'm from New Orleans, and when I was in high school, our school had a "military" style marching band. But everybody in the stands used to love when other schools came who had a show band because they played with soul and style instead of the rigid style of a military band.
I'll take a "show" band over a military-type band any day...

Wow! I went to an HBCU...Don't know how to take this. Quick question....Why have OUR bands been picked on and called "Showstyle" and I have seen comments of us being referred to as "Monkey" shows on some of our clips, but I see more and more (Majority White) Corps Style bands playing the songs that we play? We must not be as INFERIOR as people thought. You see the indication I got from the comments, especially from DCI people in our clips is that you all thought we were. I guess not....BITE

It wasn't LSU!!! The band no longer plays this favfare because the students were saying "come and suck my dick" instead of "talking out of the side of your neck!"
