On this the first anniversary of the death of my sister, Kathy, I wanted to create a visual memorial that would capture, with a select few images, some of the essence of a woman whose beauty and spirit of love and friendship has now crystallized and only grown stronger since her passing. We see her in these images, as she was, and try and reach out to take hold of her. We would wish to be, once again, in her company but take solace in the knowledge that we have many private memories of her to keep for ourselves for years to come. Hopefully what you about to see will not only bring back fond memories of Kathy but also give you a quiet moment to reflect and remember fondly others you miss who are dear to you. Isn't it wonderful that, in our mind's eye, we can take our memories out to gaze upon whenever we wish, however briefly, and then tuck them away for later.
Here, in one place, is a brief, incomplete, but sweet collection that I can go back to whenever I want; to laugh, to smile, to dream, to hope. And one day, when the time is upon me, I'll be able to stroll along the sunlit lanes of that heavenly country with my sister, my mother, all my grandparents, and all those now departed this life who I miss so deeply and whose faces I see most nights in my dreams.
There isn't a day that goes by when I don't think about Kathy and my mother who were both taken from us far too soon and so close together in 2010. But I do not despair. I prefer to take comfort in the knowledge that I was able to spend over fifty years of my life in their company. I remind myself of that and it always puts a smile on my face.
I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed making it. Many thanks to my buddy, Chris Park, for all his help.

I'm glad you liked it and I'm sorry to hear of your loss, which I assume was someone close to you. Life, sometimes, is not for the fainthearted.
