British MP Rory Stewart walked across Afghanistan after 9/11, talking with citizens and warlords alike. Now, a decade later, he asks: Why are Western and coalition forces still fighting there? He shares lessons from past military interventions that worked -- Bosnia, for instance -- and shows that humility and local expertise are the keys to success. http://www.ted.com
War and conflict is BIG business. Expect more of it, and expect lies and deceit from those whom 'you' elect. So much more to say and so little room, but sheep will be sheep and they will be led. Nothing will change because the system won't allow it. PC

Excellent talk but at the end of the day, the increasing number of no-bid military contracts awarded to fight the Afghanistan war are too profitable for US manufacturers and politicians to walk away from.
