If you put a very thick pad (polypad style) under your saddle do you need a larger fitting saddle or should you still aim for that same fit as if you were having a standard pad under the saddle? Your help would be appreciated.
@XHorsesRLifeX Sometimes if there is too much wither clearance you will get pressure points that can lead to soreness either side of the pommel where the saddle comes into contact with the horse, about 4-5 fingers between the horses withers and the saddle should be ok hope this helps. :)
I am currently trying to fit an english saddle onto a horse. It was his absolute first time with any saddle on, and he took it quite well. I'm still trying to determine if it fits or not. My main concern is the ammount of wither clearence it has. The saddle is made for a higher withered horse, and the horse I got it for has very low withers, lower than the horse in you video. So my question is, can there be too much wither clearence, as long as the saddle fits?

@ArabianImages too big to be a poa... it would have to be about 12 handish if it was a pos... this one looks well over 14 hands
