@mguilmot Exactly. Looking back, it's amazing the amount of growth Linux distros have made in just the last few years.
-
@mguilmot Yeah, that's a good point, but the bugs they're waiting to fix, if I understand correctly, are really specific and mostly related to NFS.

I've never found the redhat based distro's lightweight. I've used lots of distributions in the past, including Debian and Slackware, and they looked a lot faster, but then again, they're a bit tougher to use (especially 6-7 years ago). When I compare Fedora now comparing with my Mandrake 8.2 years ago, we've come a LONG way. Nowadays everyone should be able to use linux (Fedora or Ubuntu e.g.) without any problems. Except maybe gamers who need a Win box for their games...

@thisweekinlinux I don't think it's sad. If you look at their release policies, you should just be happy that they postponed the release. I prefer to have the release a week or two later than having one where you will need to use workarounds to make certain things work :-)

@mguilmot Yeah, kinda sad they had to push back again, but it's probably for the best.
I know I used the DVD when I installed my laptop with Fedora, and it was not a problem at all.
"Light weight" is sort of a relative term. Gnome is lightweight compared to KDE, but it's bloated compared to Xfce, Fluxbox, etc.
wow this look like ubuntu 9.10

@ygotcgftw well, it looks like Gnome. :P Should be a similar interface across most Gnome-based distributions.
