Barb Streele in a wonderful performance. She is capable of expressing many feelings with only subtle facial expressions.

Man, that opening scene was actually quite scary. To put a mask with nails or knives on someone's face... Ehhh. I get chills thinking about it

Thank you for the warning at the start of the film; this was so shocking and unlike today's tame movies that don't scare a mouse; this was the most graphic, bloodcurdling film I've ever seen in my life. I had a heart attack while watching this and almost died. My friend watching this with me wasn't so lucky. ... LOL

the american version has a different music score- european version lacks the warning in the beginning as well. german title : Die Stunde wenn Dracula kommt.Steele can be seen again in the ghost on you tube.or in Fellinis 8 1/2.

o título desse filme no Brasil foi A maldição do Demônio. Assistí em 1973. Mal conseguí dormir naquela noite. Passou na Bandeirantes.

one more question--AIP was Roger Corman's deal correct?
aitch3 1 year ago
@aitch3 Corman was just one of many director/producers who worked through AIP, but he did direct quite a number of films for AIP. His own company was Filmways and later New World Pictures. AIP was run by Samuel Z. Arkoff and James H. Nicholson...

NOT a Hollywood movie, but filmed entirely in Italy! Bava rarely ventured outside his native country.

So Bava went to H-wood to make this for R. Corman?
aitch3 1 year ago
@aitch3 Actually American International had the distribution rights within the USA. Corman had nothing to do with this film.
