  • Typical American audience, unable to wait until the very last note is played and for the lights to dime before applauding. They cheat themselves out of a very theatrical and emotionally charged moment when they do that.

  • Maybe Pavlova's looks "jerky" as it was filmed in 1907!!!! It was stunning!

  • did they not have a harp? what a shame... beautiful dancing and port de bras from sarah lamb, though, what a pleasure to watch her develop as an artist!

  • the dancing is beautiful but the head gear is AWFUL!

  • @pepperscrue Anna Pavlova was jerky intentionally from what i understand. She wanted to look like she was fighting death rather than making the entire thing graceful and unrealistic. She was a very emotional dancer.

I love this, and i love the way it's evolved but Pavlova was much more of an actress :)

  • I think she has to be one of my favourite dancers of all time and I just love this song!

  • Is it just me or did she just forget to do the actual arm wing movement? I'm not saying you shoulde be flapping your arms non-stop in hysteria but still, it's one of those important, signature "details" (!) when dancing a swan, ie Maya Plisetskaya's rendition of this piece... it's quite a shame coz besides that it was actually quite beautiful
