  • Just because the FDA says something is safe, doesn't mean it is. The FDA is subject to lobbying just like any other government group. I suggest only horomone-free milk and no diet soda (that stuff is crap) while pregnant.

  • yay for hormone free Canadian cows.. !!

  • i heard coffee is not for pregnant women they can drink 1 cup of coffee of day???????????

  • I actually read recently that 1 glass of red wine, once a week is perfectly fine :)

  • @lynncrf again the video is talking about what is safe for the fetus not what is nutrionally valuable. you keep arguing a point that makes no sense. this is again not about nutrition.

    @MrsBettieG

    The nutrition world is filled with critical thinkers, debates, ideas and arguments on everything from fibre to polyunsaturated fats. If all you learn in med school is the definition of a protein, carbohydrate and fat; then your opinion is just not going to be as valuable to me as that of someone who is NOT an OB-GYN, but who has spent years studying and practicing nutrition.

  • @MrsBettieG

    My general point here is that OB-GYN's are told the basics of food safety for pregnancy yes; but how can they possibly evaluate this on any critical level if they never receive any training on diet?

  • @lynncrf The doctor is talkiNG about what is safe for a pregnant woman to consume, so that it will not harm her baby. This is fetal well being, and again has nothing to do with nutrition. Nutrition is about receiving NUTRIENTS and the appropriate way to do so. Again you're making no sense. An OBGYN who is a specialist in fetal and maternal care definitely is taught what is safe to consume in a pregnany. I am assuming your friend is an MD and not an OBGYN like the woman here in the vid.

  • @MrsBettieG

    The doctor is talking about diet yes in that she is referring to what can be drunk during pregnancy. Again, ask your doctor how much time was spent on diet in medical school? According to my doctor friend, they get pretty much NO training on it and any doctors well versed in it take courses or do reading on an optional basis after qualifying.

  • @MrsBettieG

    Firstly, I am very happy for you that you are having a healthy pregnancy. From your reaction to my comment, I imagine you have had excellent health and never had years of your life taken away by incompetent doctors who could not see what was staring them in the face. I don’t take advice from YT either. I am a member of a medical library and read full journal papers, go to conferences, listen to talks and yes read books. Books written by doctors. Not random hippies.
