A Charge to Keep

I must believe that what's a memory now,
Was the only way
To know that all of those you love,
Were just stripped away
And now, if i'm the one to lead us
Into a brand new day,
At peace i must be with the brutal truth
To truly lead the way

(Chorus)
Please God, give me the strength to lead -
It's my charge to keep
Make the sorrow the fuel i need -
It's my charge to keep

And now, we must wipe the tears away
Gather up our inner strength
The loss of those we can't replace,
Will bring about their fate
And though many lifetimes it will take,
To bring justice on our way
We must never falter, we must never fail
This is our charge to keep

(Chorus)
Please God, give me the strength to lead -
It's my charge to keep
Make the sorrow the fuel i need -
It's my charge to keep

  • They sound absolutely great together. I believe that they sound good with the songs they wrote. I did not like the covers that barlow did on rippers, but i do like the songs barlow did himself and same goes to ripper. rippers songs were more evil and he has an evil singing voice. barlows voice has a lot of power in it, and goes better with the songs that were, in my words "epic", but as in godly like.

  • good idea

  • Put these guys in a studio with Rob Halford. Minds will be blown.

  • ...fuck yes

  • @BigSCTVfan2 This could sound harsh but in a way i wish Ripper did crucible of en instead of Barlow just for the fact i didnt like the album that much, i dont know could have been ment more for Ripper to sing, but tbh i didnt like it that much and i love Barlow so. IDK. But on the other hand hearing Barlow do stuff off the 2001 album live sounded really awesome so hard to say i guess!

  • @JesusTehNinja that would be awesome!!!!!!!!

  • the best

  • This song works much better as a duet than it does if it just had only Ripper or Barlow singing.

I must say that I prefer Iced Earth with Barlow in the band, though. Even though Framing Armageddon and Crucible of Man musically were recorded at around the same time, to me Framing Armageddon has Iced Earth sounding like Disturbed while Crucible of Man has a more traditional metal sound, probably due to the return of Barlow at the vocal helm.

  • idk. maybe it will take me some time for this song to grow on me. lol. i know i have a shit ton of there cd's so there really isnt a song i dont like from yet.

  • idk man. im not digging the judis priest sound from his voice man. sounds alot softer then there last cd. but they still kick ass. go iced earth.
