Agree that the whole thing of deliveing the wine to different parts of the tongue so as to maximize the taste receptors in certain parts of the tongue has been discredited. But still you can feel a diffrence when you tried in different glasses. This has been proved in blind tastings. The difference wont make a bad wine taste good, but it does enhances the pleasure. If the Riedel shape the right one? that is a different story.

don't pretend that you're being scientific. you don't even have the same amount of pinot in the two glasses. you didn't discuss the washing or polishing of the glasses, which WILL effect taste. you bought a set of vitis glasses why? I sure hope it was because you like how they look, because any other reason is just pure stupidity. perhaps to do this test? ive done testing in coffee mugs, pint glasses, high end glasses (didnt buy). wine just needs to open up. give wine time - or a gigantic glass.

The whole Riedel spiel about how their different glasses deliver the wine to different parts of the tongue so as to maximize the taste receptors in certain parts of the tongue has been discredited, and known to be false in the scientific community for the past thirty years.
