Yes it's true his bike was more superior...but not all the time,he worked his magic on the bikes himself and if you look at nearly any photo you'll find random bits on the bike that he had altered himself, like cardboard above the front wheel to induce better airflow to the radiator, wee things like that that made joey Dunlop who he was! But 26 tt wins and countless others doesn't just happen because you've a better bike

@B18dohc1 Joey was an incredible talent, for certain. But... McGuinness is nowhere near done. John deserves a tonne of credit too. Probably raced against stiffer competition than Dunlop. There were a number of years in the 80s where Joey's bike was far superior than his competition's... fact. Especially the early RC35 days.

RC45 superbike engine was at the end of a very long development cycle. R1 was brand new and in a fairly mild state of tune ... I'd like to know what each motor was making on a dyno... I bet the RC45 was making 15-20 hp more...
Still a great ride from Dunlop, however.

5:28 the sound is sick awesome
the rc45 joey had was NOT superior it was getting very dated by 1999, the r1 jeffries had was the faster machine, joey won by skill alone on this one considering the bad start he had also.......
