It looks nice, but I have to agree with the other comment. The authenticity of it would have to be the deciding factor for me. Nice job, though!

On another note, some sprites that were used may or may not be actual art from alphes. Due to the popularity of the style, some artists have chosen to parody it. (Ex. alphes_(style) tag on Danbooru.)

I can't decide if I like this or not. On one hand, the sprites are better, on the other I think authenticity is important.

If you were to continue doing this (certainly in the style of these sprites), I think you would have to also replace all the textures in the game.
