Heading home after work.

Just had our first storm of the season to break the dry season: it's been building! Getting hot, getting humid.

The storm hit in the arvy and it was still raining on my way home. And of course.. the roads are a bit slippery after no rain for a few months!

Heading south from Cairns City, down the Southern Access road (Ray Jones Drive) and merging onto the Bruce Highway (A1).

  • Great video. I don't think i could stand the constant heat, i would like a small shower like that.

Where can you see the traffic cams ?

    thanks

  • Unfortunately, a shower doesn't guarantee that it will get cooler, especially up here. Mostly it means it gets stickier as the sun comes back out and steams everything up all the more.

  • Wow! Definitely something I wouldn't complain about...

Nice vid though, despite the traffic, Cairns looks so beautiful!

  • Ha! Have you been in the tropics? It was still 28C at 9:30pm last night. It gets a bit annoying when you can't even walk around without getting a sweat up! ;-)

The traffic is not always like this. This road is a bottleneck to the southern suburbs, so accidents on it tend to cause havoc.

  • Hahaha, on 3:38 you passed my house!

  • Not more or less than any other city in Australia.

  • Yes, I have family living in Jamaica. Also, in southern Ontario, our summers can be quite 'hot and humid' (not that that's an issue with me). Everyone else around me complains, while I sit there as happy as can be! It's the winters that trouble me greatly...

I think that some people are just better suited to be in the extreme heat, or extreme cold...or whatever extreme temperature! lol.

  • Are motorcyclists a problem in Cairns?

  • Hope you have a safe move to Australia. Nah.. the web cam I use mustn't be the best quality for video, so it tends to make the sky pink. It's not like that in real life.

  • Thank you for your videos :) I will move to australia next year.. also to cairns so i know how does it looks like :) I also enjoy driving my car but the city i live in is not that nice :) I just wonder if the sky is really so pink..
