I'm glad hes getting deported, I hope as soon as he gest back you go to the worst military prison possible. I also think he has a very good imagination too or maybe over exaggerates a great deal but I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan for a few deployments and not once have we ever been given the order to shoot civilians. In fact its punishable under the UCMJ.

The puss ass military fucks were to chicken shit to do anything to him so they let him off with a dishonorable discharge. Why? because prosecuting a purple heart recipient for not wanting to continue his participation in an illegal and immoral war would get them a shit ton of bad press even from the mainstream media pukes.

@FluxRostrum We do not agree on his punishment, not sure how you could have got the impression we do. Darrel should be the next President of the US. Darrel is one of the most honorable people I've met on the planet. He signed up to help, realized he was being lied to, did his job anyway until he could no longer stomach it and then he risked everything to remove himself from being part of "the problem". He should be given a CEO's salary and his face should be carved into a mountain. Agree?

Last time I checked your code of honor means upholding the US Constitution. Its nice to know you'd jump into an unconstitutional war to uphold this code of honor you speak of. @bcarp2142 My cousin is in the Marine Corps and was deployed in iraq and he told me they were ordered to kill civilians when they approched them, because they didnt know if they were peacefull or were trying to kill them, but i agree with you man these pussies that went awol deserve some hard time. why did they join in the first place. theres awol assholes talking about how they were given permission to have sex with children in iraq ,get the fuck out of here!

@FluxRostrum I wish MORE people would do what this guy did, if there were a huge number doing this the government would not prosecute because the PR would be horrendous, thats why the vietnam draft dodgers got amnesty there were too many of them. If I was Obama I would grant this guy a full pardon, have his "dishonorable" discharge upgraded to "honorable" and issue an apology on behalf of the military and the US government.

it SUCKS that he got a "dishonorable" discharge. What could be more honorable than sacrificing one's career and possibly freedom to avoid harming innocent people. The war itself is dishonorable. This man is a HERO and deserves far better.
