Note Keith's fingerstyle arrangement, if my guitar isn't completely obscuring it. Keith's dropped this song a fourth, from Am to Em, to suit his voice better. I've worked up two alternative ways to play the basic chord progression.
Probably a best-ever effort for me, and a very good performance for Keith too, I believe.
This song is probably the scariest for me of the whole K&W portfolio, just because of the the two solos... which really should have a lot of EC-like string bending going on. I all but lost the technique for full-step bends several years ago, but attempting the solos for this song has brought it back, more or less. It's still a bit of a challenge to actually hit the target pitch... too much anxiety causes me to overshoot or undershoot, regularly... as you may notice... though it's usually a lot worse than this...
I especially like the first solo here... probably the best I've ever managed, despite the relative lack of bends, and despite -- or more likely because of -- launching into it from an accidentally unfamiliar starting point. It's completely off-the-cuff. The second solo is also very good (for me, I mean), and it corresponds roughly to two or three simple ideas I have about what to play, when.
Jim & Warren do this song too, though have yet to pull off a reading worth preserving.
