@pipetech26 It all depends on the pipe and what I'm trying to clean out. But if it stays white, that would be enough I would think.

How many times do you have to do this treatment? Till the salt stays white or 3 times? What do you recommend?

Do you think it would be safe if I used epsom salt and whiskey to clean my pipes? Thanks -Nich

@franksb4u If epsom salt has any kind of non salt related chemicals in it I would not use it. Lots of guys use whiskey. It adds a bit of whiskey flavor which they enjoy.

@franksb4u You don't want residue of funky chemicals in your pipe. I don't think it would be healthy. This is why I tell folks not to use isopropyal alcohol to clean.
