FRAUD ALERT!!! HSUS gives only 1% of donations to shelters or animals. This is a common scam of charities. Be very careful when giving and don't rely on singing or movie stars to guide your way. They are always stupid and give time as a way to advance their careers. They have disabled comments on most videos so you will remain uninformed. If you've contributed because of the singing commercials, you are one of the easily fooled liberals.

 Please stop promoting the HAHa. My mother who works with the Federal Government. She started part of the investigation on them. The $ is not going to the animals but 1%. The rest to employees, admin. Etc... Please I have always respected u. But u did not know, now u do. Don't take my word but dig deeper. U can find it. We did.

If you want to really help animals, donate to your local shelter. HSUS is nothing but a lobbying group pushing for laws that will make pet ownership a burden, and animal agriculture (ie. food) more expensive. Most of the money they rake in, goes into their own pockets.

They always say if you want to know the truth..."Follow the money." Hmm...followed HSUS money and it doesn't seem to wind up at shelters. Give to your local shelters...NOT HSUS.

HSUS' set out to raise $1,000,000 in a month "for dogs like Faye", an abused fighting dog. They said “Faye” was safe, in a loving home, recovering thanks to HSUS. NONE OF IT WAS TRUE: the fundraising appeal was deliberately designed to mislead donors. HSUS was NOT involved in caring for “Faye.” HSUS, in fact, predicted and suggested that dogs like “Faye” should be KILLED. But Fay's care and surgery and costs was being provided by someone else. HSUS has a history of deceptive fund raising tactics which cash in on the public’s misperception that donating to HSUS directly helps shelter pets. If you want to donate to a group who cares for the homeless pets in your community, find your local no kill shelter here. Better yet, stop by with some canned food or treats for the pets at your local no kill shelter and see for yourself how the animals are cared for. Know where your donated money is actually going and how it will be used!

As a member, I know that HSUS does not operate shelters. They help shelters by offering seminars that promote "proven best practices" for operating shelters and promoting adoption. I know of many laws they helped enact that protect animals, prevent abusive Puppy Mills, and other forms of animal cruelty. It seems that many other animal welfare supporters are grateful for the systemic changes that HSUS has implemented, to prevent heartless animal cruelty in America. J.L.
