Watch as Derek McDonald of SureFire brings the highly anticipated X400 WeaponLight + laser to acclaimed trainer (and retired LAPD SWAT officer) Scott Reitz of ITTS. Scott puts the X400 through its paces and offers suggestions on how it could be used in a variety of tactical settings.

Part 1 focuses on its development, mounting, and initial tests on the target range. Video was shot on location at Angeles National Forest in Southern California.

I now have surefire x400 and x300s on all my combat handguns. and surefires on my long guns. and multiple hand helds. I LOVE surefire products. Is the surefire training institute open to the general public??

@toboe399 im not sure about a kydex holster but if nylon is fine then check out the BlackHawk Omega VI Ultra Universal Modular Light Holster. i have one and it fits a glock with their giant weaponlight so im sure the x400 should fit...im about to order an x400 right now for my new 1911 :).... love my xm95 and M1 that i run on my carbine. surefire makes the best weaponlights by a long shot.

can't find a holster to fit a g22 with the x400....any suggestions...PLEASE all i can find is "will only fit our brand light" or "x200a"

@cassiusclaynyc - We have adapted this exact light system to work on our "Colt Commandos" which if you are not aware of is the shortest M16 based weapon (in fact it is about 3.5" shorter than the M4 and it is Fully Auto). This is real easy to do.

I met Derek recently, he's a cool dude. One note on the video. he listed Sidearmor has a company for an x400 holster. Nope, they only have the x300s right now.

they make the best white lights, and great laser units, but not a combo unit specifically for a rifle no. I have used the x400 on my AR and it works fine, just adjust it for your load of choice.
