The Woman With 7 Personalities Part 2

Helen and Ruth were best friends at school. Helen, according to Ruth, was one of the prettiest and cleverest girls in the class. Whenever Ruth thinks of school she thinks of the fun times she shared with Helen. Soon after leaving school, however, they lost contact. Fourteen years later Helen and Ruth bumped into each other by chance on a train. As they sat together on the train, Helen told Ruth that she had Multiple Personality Disorder, had been satanically and sexually abused as a child and had tried to take her own life on a number of occasions. Since that meeting six years ago Ruth and Helen have begun to rekindle their old friendship. This film follows Ruth on her journey of discovery into Helen's world. We accompany her as she gets to know her friend again, as she tries to find out what happened to Helen in the fourteen years they were apart and to understand what it means for Helen to live with Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD).

@Lovehimi1024 are you aware that blaming mental disorders on "demons" is one of the most dangerous, narrow-minded, and backwards things you can do in a modern day society. people with illnesses have been MURDERED because of that kind of thinking. this isn't the dark ages, this is 2012. so now people with certain types of mental illnesses are this way because they've "welcomed evil" into their lives? i hope to god you are never allowed near a psych ward. you're fucking dangerous and insane.

Ok, I stopped watching when they started talking about the satanic cults. That was a myth. It was supposedly going on at pre-schools. It was extensively investigated and disproven in the 80's. Chances are, her abuser was a trusted family member or friend. That's why its so hard to face

I'm only seeing the first few minutes of this, and right now I just wanted to comment that she, Helen, seems like a lovely person, and her smile, she just lights up, beautiful. I'll wait to see the rest to make another comment, but I really just wanted to say this for now :-)

Now when i have heard about the abuse in her childhood it does seems to have something to do with being safe contra unsafe. So the different personalities is a hideout.

So it is still talk therapy that could help her to recover.

Well shortly after she met the teacher she changed her self to another self that fits better to be in his company. So its like she feels more safe being a child when she meets a teacher.

So all in all it could have something to do with safety. Maybe she has been in a shock condition where she felt unsafe.

This is a trip. The girl says it was satanic cults but MANY people believe she is lying and that it is something else? That is weird to me. Why would someone make up the excuse of a satanic cult? If it was a family member then that member was part of this cult. To totally write off what this girl believes to be true is disturbing to me. It's not like she is retarded. Yes she has multiple personalities with some of them young but none are retarded.

There needs to be more people like Ruth, Derek and Mr. Faulkner in the world who don't act repulsed by poor Helen and want to reach out to her. I cannot imagine how lonely it is not only living with the trauma of sexual abuse, but also having a mental illness that nobody understands.
