  • how many people aboard this can?

I can identify with the music....I mean, trip to the FP in a 32foot tincan with a bunch of people. :(

  • @AsianSplatter I am not sure I understand your feedback. We were 3 on board.

  • @flaviotti The feed back is that you have really big cojones; launching on a trip like this on a 32 ft. boat....and taking 2 others with you. Talk about cramped. I have a 38 ft and I can hardly picture other people on board taking up the limited space one has on a boat. :)

  • @AsianSplatter Oh! Thanks!

I was crew member. Most of the preparation and risk management were taken by the captain. Here was my first sailing experience. Hehe. My first sailing miles were those towards Marquesas islands. That, I would say, is where I had big cojones :) because it is not the usual way to begin.

But hats off to you, because while I agree that people take up valuable space in a boat, I also have a tremendous respect who single hand his vessel. In fact, that's what I am planning :)

  • @flaviotti This is the best video of this type I have seen on YouTube, Your part 1 has been blocked, Is there any chance you can get it unblocked? I would really like to see that part, Cheers to you and your adventures

  • @thatbritts Thanks for your feedback.

Indeed I just checked and the firs part has been blocked pretty much all over the world. I think because I used a copyright extract from EMI (Pink Floyd's "Fat Old Sun", which I also credited, but not enough for EMI. It is just part of the song, and could have helped them to sell more, because nobody would consider them satisfied with the small excerpt I used. Go figure."

  • @thatbritts

Unfortunately right now I am in New Zealand, otherwise I could have sent you a DVD with the whole movie in it. But the master HD with the ISO image of it is at home, in Montreal.

Part 1 seems to be less interesting for most. It has a quick start about the preparation and an "agitated" part that attempted to convey to associate the initial gale and rough seas with my emotional state. It was my first sailing experience ever, and it was about to last for 27 days. I was terrified.

  • great memories.

  • @Oggiwara1 (last part).

Inevitably, deviating from the walked path, I am ready to accept that I disappoint viewers in certain points. It's ok. I do value your and all the other feedback, some more and some definitely less constructive. After 4 years, I decided to take this opportunity to write a bit about the driving forces that shaped the film with the choices made.

To all, thanks for watching. BTW: if any wants it in DVD (dolby 5.1) write me and I'll send you a copy for free.

  • @Oggiwara1 and the Chemical Brother "headache" music comments my state of confusion, fear, sickness and doubt of that "abrupt start" that in my case was not just of that journey, but an absolute one, since I began sailing in my life with that gale.

Did I manage? It can't be me to say. I can say that I am very happy with the incongruences of my film compared to the established de-facto standard stereotypes of the sailing genre. I am happy to break rules when is done to handcraft new meanings...
