  • Let me clarify it does look from the intake bolt facing straight up that those are Vortecs, just curious about the valve covers because I like that look a lot better than the center bolt.

  • @kerobinsonii yeah those are true vortecs, I just used the modified adapter plates to go from center bolt to old school cover. I think summit carries them. Thanks.

  • how much did it cost to bore it out? sounds real gud

  • so how much hp u gt

  • @pantera580efi I have an 86 monte carlo ss with the 305 h.o. and vortec heads...It gets about 15 city and 19 highway...You can get more, but that's going to slow for me haha

  • @Deciblaster When people refer to "Vortec" they generally mean 96-99 64 cc 350 truck heads. The term Vortec has been used on V6 and V8 GM engines since around 1988. All vortec's are center bolt valve covers as well the intake bolts are a dead give away as to the type. There are only 8 intake bolts.

  • @kerobinsonii They didn't make any vortecs at all pre 1986?

  • hey man u said yall are gong to the ss clp i have that same ls body style would love to buy those light from u

  • @frtaylor29 I will look into it, would love to have different covers for my truck. BTW That is a very nice Monte Carlo.

  • How did you use standard valve covers when Vortec heads are center bolt?
