MADONNA RISING Part 1 of 7.
In this segment, Madonna and friend Rupert Everett visit New York City's The Music Building, one-time rehearsal space and living quarters to Madonna during her pre-fame years in the early 1980s.

For more on Madonna's early beginnings in New York City before she became world-famous, check out my Madonna BCE vodspot site at http://madonnabce.vodspot.tv/ .

Madonna BCE (as in Madonna: Before the Common Era), focuses primarily on her pre-fame days from 1978 though the release of her second album "Like A Virgin", which skyrocketed her to international stardom in 1985. Check out early interviews and live performances, documentary footage, fan-made slideshows/videos and listen to rare, early demos from the soon to be Material Girl.

  • again cheers for putting this up....amazing to see where she began, perhaps the most interesting part of her career. thanks again.

  • @LenaDelovely she was a middle-class girl, who went to the big apple to make her dream come true. she never said that she was homeless, but this doesn't mean that she hadn't a difficult life, before she became famous.

  • I remember running home to catch this on VH1 when it first aired once-upon-a-time. "Ray of Light" was the album that truly turned me onto Madonna; 1998 was such a formative year for me, musically (Tori Amos, "From the Choirgirl Hotel"; Sarah McLachlan, "Surfacing") and thus ignited such a strong reaction when "Ray of Light" hit the shelves. Every time I hear "Drowned World/Substitute For Love" I get the same chills as when I first heard it on my Walkman in Union Square.

  • @quickmix21 AMEN

  • @LenaDelovely I knew it! Yeah, a lot of her New York story is "mythology", as her brother puts it. The media and her fans love it. :) But she ain't fooling me!

  • Non c'è con i sottotitoli in italiano?!

  • Show business is not for sissies. If u want to eat caviar first u got to eat shit.

  • what is she eating?

  • @ppptpot "Swim" by Madonna, from her Ray of Light album (1998). ;)

  • This is very interesting. Thanks for posting.

  • do you by any chance know the song that is played for the like first three seconds='

    love it
