Balloons can be utilized to teach medicine and surgery. This slideshow presents examples of several of these creative teaching techniques.
Dr. Gerard uses balloons to teach patients and physicians the concept of disease and treatment. This is a simplified method developed by Dr. Gerard, easy to understand so individuals can have an easier understanding of disease. Dr. Gerard can create the entire human body out of balloons, show all diseases and abnormalities, demonstrate treatments and surgery, and show concepts of preventative medicine. He claims there is no disease he cannot demonstrate with balloons. He has appeared on many major television and radio stations. It is also known that patients who understand their diseases will have a quicker recovery period. Many have compared Dr. Gerard to "Patch Adams", with respect to his help of children and adults.
