This Garroway appearance dates from before the NBC Quiz Show Kerfuffles as recounted in the film of that name. In the film Mr. Garroway is portrayed a bit unflatteringly as a kind of lacky for NBC management. But I don't believe it. He was a beloved figure in 50s America and longtime anchor of NBC's Today Show.
