Perhaps you would like to contact me by e-mail. I have very interresting letters written by a Dutchman (written to my grandfather in New York) who worked with Underground and saw B-24 crash in Mirns. He and other underground saved one American from Germans.
But My father taken prisoner for rest of war. 7 of the men died at crash. The death rate for American airmen was very high, about 22% on these missions.

My Dad, American Joe Gill also shot down in Mirns Friesland Netherlands this exact same day. 7 of 10 men departed but he lived another 50 years. He has been gone now since 2001. I miss him every day.

Dear Friend
I saw the burning plane crash.
Proposed by the German soldiers had almost forcibly remove the people. A few hours later the bombs exploded and broke the windows in half Bolsward.
It was a difficult and dangerous time. Not much food and my parents lived in constant fear. In my 75 years of age are often those exciting times in my dreams again.
Thanks for your reatie
