As an linux user, I am very glad that users are going to be able to go to an OS other than windows that runs their old programs, rather than being forced to use someting admitiedly more complex such as Linux or Mac

@davejoshmom1 look on their site and also i download utorrent for windows on it and it installed
but u should not install this to a machine since its an alpha
-
@davejoshmom1 yes, because it its own kernal and can do most of what microsoft can do cuz it is binary compatible with windows stuff
-
@PlumGurly That is very good to hear I like the idea of the project but as it is it is almost useless to me.

@PlumGurly Where did you think they got the "rough outline to code by" from? It wasn't copied from the source code of Win2000, I didn't say that, but clearly they used it so they could make it more compatible than a regular Linux+WINE install is (When I used it, it was a lot more compatible with Win32 apps as opposed to, say, Gentoo + WINE)

@maximilian700 If you cannot type anything, then try disabling all USB support in your CMOS. The USB support seems to interfere with PS2 devices. Hopefully they will fix a lot of the USB problem by the end of this year. They've worked on it quite a bit in branch, but they need to finish that and commit it to the trunk builds.

@Warmijwilf It wasn't copied from the leaked 2K code. They used clean room reverse engineering tactics. That's when you get someone not connected to the product to review things and make a summary, and preferably pass it by an attorney first to make sure there is nothing infringing in there. Then you use the rough outline to code by. If they had used the leaked source (and audits have show they hadn't), then they would have gotten much further writing it. Besides, it's more like 2003.
I can't wait to see how ReactOS Matures. I've tested 0.3.9 a bit, but I often had it freeze or unboot itself.

an OS should support old hardware, no doubt.
