Good point...Proper phase alignment is best, since each frequency travels at different speeds. The idea is to get each frequency to reach the ear simultaneously.
Again shadow, you're way off base. Firstly, what is a drive unit? It's a DRIVER. Secondly, most people buying speakers on this level also invest well in a class A amplifier(s) such as Krell, Levinson, etc. As far as MDF is concerned, you are correct, MDF is not high density because MDF stands for MEDIUM DENSITY FIBER. HDF on the other hand, weighs about 50-60lbs per cubic foot.
Shadow, you really don't know what you're talking about. First off, the baffle is the anchor for the drivers, and If internal bracing is done properly, there is no wave distortion. (as illustrated with KEF Reference Series).
Ever heard of cabinet bracing? I guess not. LOL! Gloss finish defracts waves and slips. A good amplifier would drive just about anything you throw at it, so why would someone who is looking at a Revel Ultima 2 system worry about driving them? You sound like a kid who thinks Bose makes the best product.
I don`t believe anybody was talking about kiddy porn except you buddy! Makes me wonder about you!

Kevin Voecks knows what he´s doing. I listened to Salon 2 driven by Levinson mono´s a while ago and they are remarkable.

Both of you need to go back to watching kiddy porn.
cabinet bracing introduces wave distortion inside the enclosure you retard!
and if you could read you would have understood I said Gloss would NOT help the wave front.
Passive Cross overs are the biggest detail killers to boot, so both of you bitches STFU.
