@trustin12gauge - Wouldn't be the first time! :) I've been finned more times than I can count. Worst fish injury was a 3' spotted gar raked it's open mount across the back of my hand while I was trying to get a hook out. It laid the back of my hand open with it's teeth. I wound up with a horrible infection!

I just bought one to try it out...do they break alot?

@gibsonjr11 - If you're baiting for panfish, they hold up excellently. They hold catfish up to 10 lbs pretty well, although I have caught a 25 flathead catfish on a yo yo. How "springy" the limb to which the yo yo is attached makes all the difference in the world. If you attach them to a fixed object with no give, even a 7-8 lb cat can destroy one.

were those limbs dead? or just leafless? what state/time of year?
youdhateme 4 months ago
@youdhateme - Yes, the limbs are dead. They are Cypress trees, standing in the old creek bed, which died when the creek was dammed to form that lake in the early 80's. The water came up about 12+ feet, drowning the trees. Cypress, being very rot-proof, are still standing and many of the limbs are still springy and strong. Such a concentration of horizontal limbs hanging over the water is the perfect spot for yo yos or limb lines! Filmed in early January on a 26-degree morning.
