  • It's important to remember that most males will develop some fullness beneath their areolas during the time of puberty. In most cases this will go away with time (a year or two at most). If it doesn't, you would be a candidate for removal of the actual breast tissue. At age 19, it's unlikely that this will just "go away". If you are all stressed out about it as well, it's time to consider treatment.

  • Wow so all of that mass is actual breast tissue? Does it just sit on top of the pectoral muscles or is it attached? What are the recovery times associated with this surgery?

  • The actual breast tissue is located beneath the nipple-areola complex and above the pectoral muscle. The amount of this tissue is quite variable among men with gynecomastia, from very small amounts that make for localized "puffy nipples" to larger amounts that make the chest appear more rounded like a breast.

Recovery time is relatively short--a week or so with soreness. Drains, if used, are removed in about four days on average.

  • @wlplasticsurgery Recovery time from gynecomastia procedures are really not that big of a deal. It is what it is, and it won't stop you from doing what you normally do other than avoiding chest exercise for about 10 days or so.

  • Ok, now I'm really convinced I have this. I have to admit that I have a gut and puffy face but even when I was lean I had breasts and they were embarrassingly visible in my Senior Class photos. Very unproportional. I thought Gynacomastia was only when your nipples were puffy at first.

  • @TheIndudey360 going to the gym won't make that go away. that tissue was part of his body. even getting down to skin and bones he'd still have large breasts because of that tissue.

  • is the person a sleep or awake
