You know as well as I do, the question posited was rhetorical. It also represents what is referred to in Logic as a weak, or false, analogy -.akin to "Hammers are used to kill people. If you are going to ban guns, why not hammers?" (and while you have the luxury of not needing mrat in your diet, that is not true for much of the world's population)

Asking questions you don't know the answer to is how you learn. Also, anyone can live perfectly fine without meat. You don't need substitutes in any way, you just need to be aware of what you eat. In fact, I'd bet a large % of _SERIOUS_ vegetarians and vegans have a healthier diet than most of the people who eat meat, because they are aware of what they eat, and ensure they get the nutrition they need.

I eat meat because I like it, not because I have to.

WOW! I just tried this and it absolutely does taste like bacon! As a vegan I am always curious about substitutes for meat and dairy, though I'm not a fan of substitutes because they are almost always processed nonsense that don't even taste near what they claim to. This is perfect though because they are both a natural food and tastes exactly like what it claims to! Though I've never been a fan of bacon I was curious and had to try this, amazing results...my mind has been blown!

sry but i don't crave bacon at all, it's disgusting. i'm here cause a friend showed me the vid. my educational background is fine, no worries. a societal or personal decisions based on murder, slaughter and pain of other sentient beings is not a choice. just because we've been doing sth for centuries doesn't make it right! or what about rape and murder of ppl? it's just as wrong.

When you get to high school take debate. You'll learn not to ask a question to which you don't know the answer. It's not totally different, I simply choose not to eat my dog or my horse but I understand billions of people eat both (I've tried both). That's a societal decision. And you're wrong, the fact you've access to substitutes "allowing" you to forgo meat in our rich society is the exception. The majority of the world's population do not. There is a reason you crave the taste of bacon, son.

we are not though. i was just wondering why a video like that leads to discussions about meat and being vegetarian/vegan anyway cause it's simply a recipe. but: if we eat meat like you say, why don't we dogs too? i see you have a dog. but i guess that's totally different isn't it? you should read the china study to know that we do not need meat. i've been vegan for almost 5 years, i should know that too.
