Argyllshire Gathering August 2007, former winners MSR competition. Alasdair Gillies was the winner of the contest. The tunes are David Ross, Inverary Castle and Broadford Bay. The pipers have to play a double MSR (each tune twice) for the judges. I did cut one of each tune to make the video shorter and more interesting for the listener.
David Mason har written a tune in Alasdairs honor that I think deserves some recognition

It seems like yesterday when Alasdair was telling me how he loved the tone of my pipes and suggested scholarship to Carnegie Mellon. I heard he had died only a few days ago and I'm so shocked. RIP. You'll be marching up the stairway to heaven Alasdair.

i saw this live. when he was done, i told my brother that he had won, even though at least half of the competitors still had to play. he was on another level.

@keydetpiper I know. It's a shame what's been happening to him recently.

When he's in form, he's fantastic. I don't know if anyone can play an MSR quite as well as this guy.
