Self-starting H-rotor built in an outline frame.
The blades are 80cm long and 7cm wide at a turbine diameter of 70cm.
I chose a symmetrical NACA0018 airfoil profile.
It is driving no generator.
Ball bearings are taken from inline skates.

There is quite little wind and it does about (poor) 18 rpm. I am sorry for not having a tool to measure the wind speed.

Find out more about my projct (in german):

  • That's one heck of a tower you built. Do you have plans to put something bigger on it? It seems like it didn't really reach the take off speed. Will it go faster if you give it a spin by hand to get it started?
