This is a video published by Las Vegas K9 Training explaining a few common tips and tricks for getting a dog accustomed to a crate.

We make it a point to remind you that crate training is not a preventative method for nuisance behaviour like chewing, barking, or biting and can infact worsen these behaviours. A dog trained for a crate is generally just calmer and more patient - and, if you're traveling, he'll feel more comfortable sleeping in his crate than in a strange house. If your dog has serious behavioural problems, you should contact a professional trainer experienced in positive method training to best evaluate your dog.

Good luck, and remember - anyone can train!

  • the first thing my dog did was pull the blanket into the crate. It was a mess. I would strongly recommend using something that they can't pull in !
