Great man great car. They reached a level of greatness that has never been seen again. Even after more than 70 years it still stirs the soul.

Bernd a jew? I don't think so. It would have been unthinkable back then to have a jew driving for the NSKK.
Also, Himmler made him join the SS for pete's sake!

well, Nuvolari usually sat in uncompetitive Italian cars from Alfa and Maserati at this time. Btw, Nuvolari won in Nurburgring in 1935 with his Alfa which was a 3 year old design and significantly down on power compared to the Auto Unions and Mercedes rivals driven by Carriciola and other 1935 greats. Many see this as the ultimate win in inferior machinery on the world's most tough circuit.

Super klasse!

Knowing Bernd's history and the tragedy of his death amidst the cultural conflict of interest in his heritage as a Jew racing for Germany under the reign of the Third Reich inspires me to wonder: did he turn his back on his heritage to save himself from persecution, or to prove a Jew was as worthy of respect and recognition as any other German? Would serve as a terrific premise for a feature-length biographical adaptation of Bernd's life. Spielberg, perhaps? Why the heck not?
RIP Bernd

Thank You.

If I read all the race results from the 1930's, Rosemeyer and Carriciola are together better then Nuvolari.

RIP, the greatest driver of his era.
Beautifully done, the poesy and poignancy of one of the all time greats.
RIP Bernd.

Well Steffen T1981, you've certainly created an absolutely wonderful video. The music and archive film footage are perfectly made for each other. Thank you so much for creating this piece. Bernd Rosemeyer is a legend.
