This song develops a groove fairly early on and sticks with it. Very typical of things composed by Matt Gray. Still, he really knew how to get some expressive sounds out of the C64. Just watch the Driller video or search for the DerSchmu Tusker longplay. I even made a remix of this tune a few years back.
Loved when tunes were real melody type music you could imagine words to. This is why my favourite C64 game tune is Racing Destruction Set, a real rocking number that has a great hook! Not done by a famous musician so not on You Tube, but as I still have my C64 and the game, I hear it quite a lot as I still play the game with my Nephew!
sick ! this is the first time hear this, but I could tell right away that it was done by the same musician that did last ninja 2 :D

Strange how the 8-bit versions of this game were completely different than 16-bit versions.
This one looks like Stormlord, but the 16-bit versions all take place inside on the first level.
