This is video of a family of 4 baby and 3 adult Kookaburras nesting in a Tree hole in a Suburb of Newcastle. I have hung a webcam upside down over the hole so not to prevent their normal line of access. You'll see in the 3rd minute of Video one of the parents spot the camera for the first time and give it a full check out. Only that one adult of the 3 adults has done that so far!
The stench in the hole is something else!!....and the chicks are not against firing the shitty stuff at a parent as it enters! Urgh!
Its rare to have 4 kookaburra chicks in a nest let alone to have 4 survive this long.
Check back for further parts to this story and i'll sort out the audio humming issue too.
where's part 2?

As an absolute hockey NUT I love your video. But it wouldn't be me not to leave a comment on our Great Aussie hockeyroos. Here's to GOLD in 2012!!! Regards Chiara Purcell
