The Oversight Committee, chaired by Rep. Henry Waxman, holds a hearing continuing the Committee's examination of evidence and allegations of political interference with the work of government climate change scientists under the current Administration.
This policy prescriptive approach to science, as opposed to evidence-based, reminds me of the approach to foreign policy that has sunk us into Iraq. It is far past time for EVIDENCE-BASED INITIATIVES.

During the hearings Chris Cannon (R-Utah) even went so far as to admit that the reason Republicans support having oil lobbyists edit scientific statements is that the Republican position on science is that scientists' speech should be "subject to and directed by policy." The idea here appears to be that as long as Republicans were in charge scientists were expected to provide support for Republican policy, rather than be guided by the evidence.

Don't be such an idiot. Your vacuous argument applies equally to your beloved liberals too, so STFU and start educating yourself versus swallowing all the liberal talkingpoints.

Well, that easy. Though this guy is clearly an idiot (schratboy), Bush is by far the greatest of them all. schratboy, go get informed. Democracy only works when people are 1) involved and 2) make informed decisions. You certainly have no clue about what's going on.

What is truly dopey tinged with a bit of dark humor is watching a person who can't even spell their own screen name correctly defend Puddinhead George and his blatantly deceitful and incompetent Keystone Kabinet as it slowly circles the bowl. Don't forget to wipe Mr. TATTERS. Oh, and tell schratboy it's his turn on brown streak patrol.

Meatpieandtaters says it all: evidence is irrelevant. The only thing that is relevant is what Republicans say is relevant. That's why the country is falling into a hole so large not even Jesus will be able to pull us out.

I have the perfect litmus test for President Bush. Put Bush on the "hot" seat. If he burns we have global warming. If he follows his great track record from the Air National Guard, he might not show up for political for purposes.

I am a Independent American, and far from your right wing ignorance. I voted for Ronald Reagen because not because he was brilliant, but he knew how to pick the right team of experts. Smart men know how to pick wise people as advisers. I don't know who is a bigger idiot, you or Bush. Bush neither can pick the right advisers, all who suffer from amnesia, or are just down right dishonest.

Republicans love life and the US. Listening to the democrats undermine, bash and castigate everyone who doesn't share their high-minded opinions is always characterized as hating the world. Don't make such sweeping generalizations as it makes you seem dopey.

Are you a complete idiot or just a registered democrat? Honesy to goodness, I'd expect at least a little bit of fact-based discourse other than the typical chunks of red meat stupidity so typical of today's enlightened liberal factions.
