It's talking about abortion, if you check out the official music video it's all just pictures of unborn and aborted babies. :'(

what a great metaphor for how innocent creatures die weather that be for fun and game or natures curse. truly makes you see how that bird can be your friend suffering in need of help and you the little boy could be a saviour to help that injured starling. :)
