Feel free to pause the video at any point to read the analysis. The fugue terminology and techniques found in this video can be found and defined in a good counterpoint book. These include subject (the theme), countersubject (a second theme used against the first), inversion (the theme is played moving the notes in the opposite direction, so an ascending third becomes a descending third, etc), retrograde (the theme is played backwards), canon or stretto (the theme hasn't finished playing in one voice when a different voice enters and begins playing it, causing an overlapping effect), and augmentation (the theme is played half as fast).
