Boxing gloves vs MMA gloves - Which one hits harder?

It is easy to assume that using MMA gloves will allow you to hit harder compared to using boxing gloves since MMA gloves have less padding compared to boxing gloves.
This video tells a different story...

@Easyandy100 hahaha dont be stupid, the mma glove is lighter therefore it can be thrown faster and it has less padding! so stop talking rubbish, and i dont care if you have been hit with both because that has nothing to do with it you muppet!

OMG! MMA people just deal with it! The gloves make next to no difference. And remember gloves were introduced into boxing many years ago to protect the hands not the head. Boxers spar with bigger gloves to protect their hands and use head guards to protect their heads. You see how it all makes sense now.

@lusby16 Well it 'obviously' isn't. That's why they are doing it! The difference between gloves as this clip shows is minimal. I have been hit by both and it's the same. I think MMA people are desperate to make themselves out as hard as boxers for some reason when in reality they are different sports with limited transferable skills.

F=m*a. MMA glove=more acceleration/less mass. Boxing glove=More mass/less accel. Case closed I think.

Whats with that thumb? And btw... the force is exactly the same but with the gloves power is distributed over a larger area so the punch is not that hard. What kind of "documentary" is this?
