-------
Rusky Ed here with the introductory lesson for this new unit. Do your best to translate the sample sentences before the end of the new and shorter intro song!

Hoped you liked the new song! It's a little more colorful than the old song. At least, I think so. And speaking of colors, you probably figured out that this lesson is a review of some color words in Russian. In fact, we will kick things off with a sample sentence about a brown fence:

Он перелез через коричневый заборе. (He climbed over the brown fence.)
The nominative, masculine, singular form of the word for brown is коричневый. It just so happens that this is the accusative, inanimate, masculine, singular form also!

Sample sentence number two goes like this:
Он разбил окно красным молотком. (He shattered the window with a red hammer.)
The Russian word for red is красный and here we see it as красным which is the instrumental, masculine, singular form, however, красным is also the instrumental, neuter, singular form and the dative, plural form of the word.

It is now time for sample sentence number three:
Белый грузовик вёз прицеп. (The trailer was towed with a white truck.)
First of all, it should be pointed out that вёз is the masculine, past tense form of везти, but getting to the color word in this sentence we see the Russian word for white, which happens to be белый in the nominative, masculine, singular form.

Moving on now to sample sentence four:
Он надел оранжевый парашют. (He put on the orange jumpsuit.)
Here we see оранжевый which is the Russian word for orange. It takes this form in the nominative, masculine, singular case and the inanimate, accusative, masculine, singular case.

And finally we have:
Они скормили объедки розовой свинье. (They fed their leftovers to the pink pig.)
First of all, it should be pointed out that объедки refers to scraps of food. Secondly, розовой is the color word here. It is розовый in the nominative, masculine, singular form. BTW, розовой is the dative, feminine, singular form of this word. It should be noted that this form is also used for the genitive, instrumental, and prepositional, feminine, singular cases.

And now for a quick discussion about deep blue and light blue. The word for deep blue is синий as in:
Её глаза были синие как небо.
Её глаза были синими как небо.
(Her eyes were as blue as the sky.)
The word for light blue is голубой as in:
Её глаза были голубые как небо.
Её глаза были голубыми как небо.
(Her eyes were as blue as the sky.)
BTW, usually the sky is considered to be light blue, but there are times when it seems to be a deeper shade of blue.

And now for a few quick bonus sentences:
Она выпила жёлтую жидкость. (She drank the yellow liquid.)
Серый кот запрыгнул на зеленую подушку. (The gray cat jumped onto the green pillow.)
Он предпочитает синий виноград. (He prefers blue grapes.)
Он хранит черные грецкие орехи на чердаке. (He keeps his black walnuts in the attic.)
Она сфотографировала фиолетовые цветы. (She took pictures of the violet flowers.)
Она кормила козла плотоядным фиолетовым цветам. (She fed the goat to the carnivorous violet flowers.)
